Olympos Weather and Climate

Olympos offers an atmosphere that will enchant you in every weather condition. Rather than worrying about what the weather is like, it’s best to savor every moment that Olympos provides.
For example, we visited this unique destination in May and were greeted by an unexpected storm on the beach. However, this allowed us to experience the unique joy of swimming in the rain.
The lightning illuminating the sky was both thrilling and a bit unnerving. If you wonder how the months usually go in Olympos, check out our post “What Is Olympos Like in Spring?” to see our experiences and photos.
If you want real-time weather information, you can find the last 7 days of weather forecasts below. These details are sourced live from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, ensuring you get the most accurate and up-to-date information. Regardless of the weather in Olympos, we recommend enjoying every moment.
How Is the Weather and Climate in Olympos?

Due to its geographical location and valley structure, Olympos has a more balanced and pleasant climate compared to other coastal regions. The valley naturally regulates humidity.
In the evenings, the breezes from the sea carry away excess moisture, creating a drier and fresher atmosphere. This differs from the excessively humid climates of Antalya or Kemer.
Especially during the summer months, although temperatures are high, the balanced humidity prevents discomfort. Even in August, nights are cool, allowing for a restful sleep. These features make Olympos ideal for a comfortable holiday even in the peak season.

How Is the Sea in Olympos?

We’ve arrived at one of the most important questions of our Olympos Travel Guide: The sea is generally calm, not overly warm, and moderately deep. For example, it’s not as shallow as Ölüdeniz.
From early May to late September, you can comfortably swim in the sea. Note we say “can swim”—if you’re not a fan of cooler water, you might not enjoy it that much. It’s not icy, but it’s not lukewarm either.

Those with a Museum Pass enter the Olympos Ancient City free of charge. Therefore, the Olympos Beach entrance fee for 2025 is expected to be 420 TL, with free admission for Museum Pass holders.
There are also multi-entry cards. If you plan to stay in the area for 3–4 days and visit the beach frequently, we recommend purchasing one of these multi-entry cards.

Olympos Shoreline and Lifestyle

The Olympos shoreline stretches along a long mosaic of natural pebbles. As this beach is in a National Park, you won’t find sunbeds or umbrellas—only the purity of nature. Away from modern conveniences, you are everything you need.
There are no restroom facilities directly on the beach, so head to Çıralı nearby if you need facilities. The beach’s raw conditions make it perfect for those seeking a true nature experience.
Vendors walking the beach sell corn, gözleme, mussels, and other street foods. If you prefer a full meal, return to Çıralı for a richer menu at local restaurants.
Thirst won’t be a problem—refreshing beers, cold water, or an ice tea will quench your thirst, all delivered by beach vendors. This beach promises not only sun and sea but also a simple yet rich gastronomy experience.
Where to Stay in Olympos?
As a protected site, construction in Olympos is limited. Yet, amidst the greenery, there are bungalows and treehouses offering peaceful and budget-friendly accommodation. However, low prices can be misleading—reservations are crucial during peak season.
One recommended place is Deep Green, ideal for couples and small groups seeking tranquillity. Another favorite is Sheriff’s Place, run by the former village headman, also perfect for families and couples. Both are reliable choices, with Deep Green becoming indispensable for us recently.
A gem we discovered in 2019 is Otantik Pansiyon, recommended by friends. It features modern, spacious rooms, a family-friendly atmosphere, and delicious meals. It’s a bit further from the shore, but that’s fine if you have a car.
Accommodation in Olympos offers a simple and relaxing experience in harmony with nature, built from natural materials and far from urban chaos. It’s a peaceful retreat you won’t want to miss.
